Bridgr / Support

Let’s get you connected.

Setup help, a few useful checks, and a direct way to get in touch.

Bridgr is in early development. Public app and host downloads are not available on this site yet. These instructions are for people who already have a test build.

Connect your Mac

  1. Install Tailscale on your Mac and iPhone or iPad. Connect both to the same selected network in Tailscale.
  2. Open Bridgr Host on your Mac and start sharing. Allow Screen Recording for video and Accessibility for pointer and keyboard control when requested.
  3. Choose Add device on the Mac. On your iPhone or iPad, choose Add computer and scan the code.
  4. Approve the request on the Mac, choosing View only or View and control.
  5. For later sessions, select your saved computer by name. The Mac must be awake, reachable through Tailscale, and running Bridgr Host with sharing on.

Things to check

My computer appears online, but won’t connect

Check that Tailscale is connected on both devices and the same network is selected. Open Bridgr Host, start sharing, and select the computer again. Online in Tailscale describes network presence; it does not mean Bridgr is running or approved.

The pairing code won’t scan or has expired

Refresh the code on your Mac and scan the new one. If camera access was denied, allow it in iOS Settings. Check Local Network permission there as well if the connection is blocked.

I can see the screen, but can’t control it

On the Mac, open Devices and check that your device has View and control permission. Resume control if it is paused, and verify Accessibility access in macOS System Settings. View-only permission allows video without input.

The video is blank or unavailable

Check Screen Recording permission for Bridgr Host in macOS System Settings. Follow any system prompt to reopen the host, start sharing again, and reconnect from your iPhone or iPad.

Which platforms and features are available?

The prototype targets iOS/iPadOS 18 or later and macOS 15 or later. These are deployment targets, not a guarantee that every device and OS version has been verified. The Windows host has passed a Release build and startup smoke check; live video and input verification remain pending. The prototype shares one display per session. Audio streaming, file transfer, and device-to-device clipboard transfer are not included.

End a session or remove access

Disconnect on your iPhone or iPad, or end the session on the Mac. Use Stop sharing on the Mac to stop accepting connections. Revoke the device in Bridgr Host to remove its remembered access.

Forget pairing on your iPhone or iPad removes the saved computer pairing on that device. It does not revoke the Mac’s separate permission. Use both actions when removing a pairing from both ends.
